Import UK
Full Import Declaration (IMD)
- We can submit a pre-lodged declaration up to 30 days before the goods arrive. However, it will only be formally accepted after the goods have physically arrived and are presented for customs clearance.
Using the Goods Vehicle Movement Service (GVMS), your declaration is typically automatically marked as “Cleared” in the system when the goods are imported. If the status does not update automatically, we can close it manually on your behalf.
Simplified Customs Declaration Processes (SCDP) is a customs clearance method primarily intended for wholesale traders. It allows goods to cross the border with only minimal information declared.
- Entry in Declarant’s Records (EIDR) is a simplified customs procedure allowing an economic operator to obtain authorization to enter certain goods into the customs import process at their premises or other approved locations. Goods covered by delayed declarations must be entered into free circulation (customs clearance), and a supplementary declaration must be submitted to HMRC within 175 days.
- Simplified Declaration Procedure (SDP) is a customs simplification aimed at expediting the release of imported goods. It allows for streamlined border clearance by submitting minimal data (a simplified declaration) to HMRC at the border.

Export UK
Full Export Declaration (EXD/EXA)
An export declaration is a statement we can submit on behalf of the exporter. It contains detailed information about the goods being shipped, including their type, quantity and value. This data is used by customs authorities for export control and for collecting foreign trade statistics.
Transit Declaration in NCTS (EXD/EXA + T1)
T1 is a procedure for external Union transit, applied when moving goods for which customs duties are suspended during transportation. The T1 transit declaration ensures that goods are monitored during their journey between two countries (customs offices).
A T1 declaration must be opened at the customs office of departure. The procedure is completed when the goods are presented in their original condition along with the transit document at the customs office of destination (closure).
Relocation of Personal Property (EX + T1)
The customs procedure for relocating personal property includes submitting an export declaration covered by the transit procedure through the NCTS2 system. This process requires the necessary documents and an application for duty exemption under this procedure.
Our customs agency will assist you with all customs formalities related to the relocation of personal property. Our services include comprehensive support for relocations from the United Kingdom to Poland.

Additional services
We can prepare your CHED notification in the IPAFFS system, generating a UNN (Unique Notification Number) required for completing the import declaration in the United Kingdom.
This applies to all goods classified as:
- Live animals and germinal products
- Products of Animal Origin (POAO)
- Composite products
- Plants and plant products
- High-risk food and feed of non-animal origin (HRFNAO)
- Animal By-Products (ABP)
From the end of 2023, additional certificates are required for goods in the medium-risk category:
- Exporter Health Certificate (EHC)
- Certificate of Origin
- Phytosanitary Certificate (PC)
All documents in the IPAFFS system will be verified at a Border Control Post (BCP) or a Control Point (CP).

Documents Related to Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated Fishing (IUU)
To import most fish into the United Kingdom from another country (excluding fish transported from the EU to Northern Ireland), you must obtain an approved Catch Certificate issued by the competent authority in the country where the fishing vessel is registered or licensed.
If the fish have been processed or stored in a country other than where the fishing vessel is registered or licensed, one or both of the following documents may also be required:
- Processing Statement approved by the competent authority in the country where the fish were processed.
- Storage Document issued by the competent authority in the country where the fish were stored.
These documents, including the Catch Certificate, are essential in combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing (IUU) and are collectively referred to as IUU documents. We can submit them on your behalf based on the provided certificates and attestations.

A Goods Movement Reference is the unique reference number for transported goods. As of early 2022, every driver transporting goods between the European Union and the United Kingdom (both directions) must have this number.

VAT / CUSTOMS DUTIES
We offer comprehensive support in Postponed VAT Accounting (PVA), a system for deferring VAT payments on imported goods into the United Kingdom and beyond.
- No need to pay VAT immediately during customs clearance
No PVA account? Artigos can provide you access to our account.
All customs costs, such as duties or excise taxes, are settled using a Deferment Account Number (DAN). Our customs agency, Artigos, offers the use of our DAN account, which allows deferral of customs duties payment on imports.
- Smoother cost management
- No immediate payment of customs duties
Reverse Charge Procedure
This procedure allows the transfer of VAT payment obligations from the supplier to the buyer of goods or services. Using this method, businesses can account for VAT without immediate payment in international transactions. We offer full support in understanding and implementing the Reverse Charge procedure.
